Give several examples... - Was it more of a PUSH or a PULL migration? - Describe the different experiences of men vs. women, during the great migration. Pull Factors/Northern Destination Cities: SWBAT: investigate the pull factors of Northern Cities as destinations for African-Americans IOT: develop a travel poster/radio ad to invite people to their city Pages 579-582 in the textbook. - Things to think about - - what did your city have that was appealing to blacks? - churches, safety, housing, jobs, etc.... - Be sure to 'advertise' the pull factors. - Maybe a jingle, tagline or slogan...
